All
Corvette coupes since 1984 have had an easily removable
roof panel called a “targa” top and a rear
glass hatch that lifts to give access to the rear storage
compartment, the largest of any sports car. The roof
panels are easily stored in the rear compartment giving
the owners the feeling of a convertible and the extra
room of a coupe. Corvette coupes feature all of the luxury
and convenience that make day to day driving a pleasure.
Coupes are available with an automatic or 6 speed transmission.

| Corvette
convertibles feature a manual fold away soft
top and a trunk for storage which was designed
to hold 2 sets of golf clubs. With its rigid
body design, the convertibles have few rattles
or body flex. The convertible is very quiet due
to the weather-stripping and sealing around the
door glass and the multi layer twill top design.
The tops also include a glass rear window with
an electric defogger. The convertible cloth top
colors are Black, Light Oak, or Shale (50th anniversary
edition), vinyl convertible top is also
available in White. Convertibles are available
with an automatic or 6 speed transmission. |

The
Z06 model is known as the most extreme driving Corvette.
Produced to take the place of the ZR-1, the ZO6 is
the quickest and most agile Corvette ever made. This
model is only available in the “Fixed” roof
style, making it the best handling and most rigid Corvette
ever designed. A distinctive front grille improves
the airflow to the engine and adds to the distinctive
appearance of the Corvette Z06. The ZO6 is only available
with a 6 speed transmission with gear ratios that enhance
acceleration. A lightweight titanium exhaust is exclusive
to the ZO6.

The
C6 is the newest generation of the Corvette. Sleeker
and more streamlined the C6 Corvette is the new symbol
of the American sport car. The new Corvette will be
powered by an all new 6.0 Liter, 400 h.p. LS2 motor.
The C6 coupe will continue as before with the one
piece lift
off
roof
panel. For
the first time since 1962 the C6 Corvette will have
exposed
headlamps
instead of "roll over" headlamps with the
previous generations. C6 coupes are available as a
Hydro-Matic automatic or with the Tremec 6 speed manual
.

The
C6 convertible will be the newest edition to the
Corvette. Due out in the spring of 2005. The C6 convertible
will offer the optional power soft top which hasn't
been seen in the Corvette since 1962. More information
will be coming as production nears.

The Hydra-Matic 4L65-E automatic transmission
is an upgraded version of the C5's 4L60-E, strengthened
and revised to accommodate the LS2's 400 lb.-ft.
of torque. It includes GM's advanced Performance
Algorithm Shifting, which automatically selects the optimal
gear for a given driving condition, making it a willing
accomplice for performance driving and hard cornering.
The transmission now shifts at higher revs to take advantage
of the higher engine output. |

There are 2 versions for the C6 model, street and track
modes. The Street version projects a digital image
of the speedometer, turn signal indicators, and can add
audio system data, automatic transmission gear position,
and high beam indicator. The Track version projects a

and a g-force real time lateral accelerometer. |

a C5 Z06 – marking a major advance in the overall
performance of a Corvette Coupe by nearly approximating
the extreme performance capabilities of the vaunted Z06
at a remarkable value. |
